It is the BMW E30 black Alpina convertible in the link above.
It used to belong to a user on here called 'oldskool 2002'
Does anyone know who owns it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

It was up for sale about 3-4 years back, in whitney. I contacted the seller so that I could buy it, and he had taken a deposit before I got in touch!
It looked nice in the pics, but I was also made aware that the back end did not match the front. I think it may have been a reshell, but I can't remember the full details..

I Hampered after said vehicle for many years, alas when it did come up for sale I was out of the country. Going by information I have read on other forums in the past, it's in and around Oxford still, I'll see if I can find out more from a reputable source.

I too was very close to buying this a few years back. But I was too far into mine.
Old school was a top man. Had excellent skills and build the s50 touring that Barry reshelled into the red 2 door that got spanked on the track by bill gates. IIRC.

I too was another considering to buy it when Chris Warburton had it up for sale on behalf of old skool_2002.
It was not reshelled but the rear panel had been chopped about to fit the facelift rear lights and the car did not have a tech 2 kit from new either.
I saw it in person once when Damian (old skool) came to collect and air con kit from me which he bought to go in the car but never got round to fitting before sale.
I believe the person who did buy it joined this forum and posted briefly but that was he last I heard of it.

Hi Sam, The only thing I could find out was that it was last seen in the Oxford area in Summer 2013, so 2 years ago, might be in hibernation who knows, I will be the first to know if it is spotted again in the said area. Fingers crossed. If I do, I will let you know.sam325is wrote:Fl_325i did you have any joy mate?
Thanks

agree with rodderz that there was one on pistonheads 2009 that was a black cab with red. the seller wanted £6k and was mentioning that the floor was in excellent condition?

Don't confuse this beauty with my beaten up cab. It's got the same body kit, but crappy alpina reps and alpina badges. Been driving it around Oxford for the last eight or so years just never got round too rebadging it or justifying new wheels.
There's enough else on it that needs my constant attention before I get to getting it back into 'Bimmer' mode.

I too wanted this car when Chris "lockdown" Warburton...(some may remember the nickname!)...had it and it was up at £5500. Was put off by that rear panel that Barry mentions, above. Wish id have overlooked that now though!
Im sure I read somewhere recently that it was never going to be sold but values of 40k mentioned! (?)

I don't know much about a story but I've seen it, and its not just the rear panel you should be worried about, the 'retrofitter' was also quite handy with tin snips and a riveter, or so he thought...sam325is wrote:Lol at 40k I'd pass.
Dan, do you know A bit about the story behind this car?
Brettski loooong time o speak. Didn't you used to live in Cheltenham?
As anybody knows an M-tech 2 kit can hide a whole town full of bodge artists work, I would always expect the worse

Is this the same car that there was an 'interesting' debate about back in the days? lol
