aaahh another election somewhere. In other words the illusion of choice. Meaningless choice that is. As if it's going to make a difference.
This guy sums it up perfectly. It works the same in every country!

While I think UKIP are a bit of a disgrace, it says something for the system where you can get 13% of the vote and only have 1 seat.87mtech27 wrote:Haha...Gert_8 wrote:Mitchen wrote:5 million votes and yet BNP secure zero seats.. travesty.
Is it me or are UKIP voters coming across as sore losers

I can see this developing to be quite interesting
The Lib Dems have to choose a leader from the 8MP's they have. I doubt they will make many gains now and it will be a tough job to regain seats and votes. I think they will die
UKIP without Farage will also die off. Local and EU elections will be interesting but the torys may win UKIP back supporters if they make real changes in Europe
Labour are fucked but the Torys may actually help them depending how the SNP get on with their agenda. If they get nothing and Cameron makes them look like failures their voters could turn against them
Let's no forget David Cameron will only be doing the job of PM for 4 years and Boris will step in. With his charisma and personality he'll do well.
Personally I can see it being another 10 years of conservative lead governments which I'm happy about

I don't believe it. She's a career politician who will hang on for as long as possible.jas025 wrote:Harman is stepping down as deputy PM apparently.Andyboy wrote:Good old Dave, full house!![]()
I felt sorry for Clegg who made an excellent 'we ****** it up' speech. They didn't really deserve such a kicking.
As for travesties, Ed Miliband is gone but that evil bastard Harman is still there, a zero conscience Blairite stain on politics.
Someone said that they were pretty sure that Harriet Harman is not the solution to labours problems.

They'll be lucky to get someone that media savvy again, five years is a long time until the next general election with just one seat won. A collapse back into the gutter is inevitable I think..Gert_8 wrote:Credit where it's due; Farage and his racist party, tried to dress things up in a cloak of credibility”“ took in some gullible fools along the way, and failed.Andyboy wrote:Nigel Farage was UKIP - it'll all dwindle to nothing without him.

Career politician - Mharie Black 20 Years old SNP
I Saw her on TV a few weeks back and detested her immediatly
By her own admission she wasn't even into politics 6 months ago
All she does is regurgitate SNP policy and sound like Mel Gibson (yep she's got a blokes voice and she's probably fond of a drink from the fury cup)

I think the SNP will fall apart if they push for independence again. I think they will loose support because they will not and now cannot get their own way

Terrible. Sat up until 5am, with a box of Guinness, shouting at the TV and Kos. On the upside, the chap I voted for ousted the sitting DUP MP.pacerpete wrote:bab-91 wrote:Grrrmachine wrote:Saw this morning's results; looks like I'll be staying in Poland for another 5 years...

Won't happen. All the SNP have to do is make unreasonable demands, when the Tories don't play ball, play up the nasty party line and "we are the voice of Scotland".Andyboy wrote:..or if Cameron is nice to the Scots and gives them what they want, thus pulling the rug from under the SNP's feet.
Expect to see another referendum.

I've got a free healthcare service, a decent retirement age, affordable housing and no tuition fees. Which is a hell of a lot better than the UK will have by 2020!bab-91 wrote:Do you have a sofa bed?Grrrmachine wrote:Saw this morning's results; looks like I'll be staying in Poland for another 5 years...

Don't know who will be leading Labour. My choice would be Alan Johnson but none of the pundits have him in the running.

Uni is free at point of entry and I'm glad that students have to pay for further education and I think the scots should pay too. Stops them from studying The History of Lace Knitting in Shetland which is paid for my me.Grrrmachine wrote:I've got a free healthcare service, a decent retirement age, affordable housing and no tuition fees. University should be a privilege, not a right. Charging for it somewhat ensures this but there are still hoards of mongs getting themselves into crippling debt doing a media studies degree thinking it will be worth something
The cost of education would be far less of an issue if people were intelligent enough to realise you should only go to Uni to study something worthwhile with decent career prospects at the end of it, where paying off that debt is not going to be an issue.
See it with a lot of my friends. Ones who did STEM subjects all walked straight into jobs, all of them are now earning very good money, where as the ones who did bs degrees like textiles (seriously), art etc are screwed and obviously it's the governments fault for increasing uni fees
I am happy with the result as it looks like the islands economy will be sound for at least the next 5 years. Keep stashing your money over here chaps, I know some good accountants if you need advice*

There's a whole deluded generation out there. I know a guy who did an MA at the Royal Academy in photograph criticism and is now surprised he can only get call centre jobs. It's the sense of entitlement that is most annoying, they've been told they're 'special' throughout their lavish education, they come out the other end and are surprised to land on the asses. This lot have even got a name now 'laggies'ross_jsy wrote:University should be a privilege, not a right. Well Conservative gov will hopefully help UK economy recover and become more prosperous. I just hope they don't rip communities apart and gentrify areas in London this losing their character. Also would like to see more jobs, more investment in science and engineering, more encouragement to stem subjects, Australian style immigration controls and no speed limits.
As for UKIP they got the 3rd largest number of votes which was nigel target so it was a success. They got 3.8 million votes. However just one seat.
As for the ignorant Zoners thinking they are "racist" ie Gert, Kos they should really educate them selves !
And also watch Tommy Robinson Oxford Union speech rather than bury your head and ignore it before making your own mind up (ie Kos).
