Hi all,
Took my G reg 316 with a Weber carb out for its first run today of any distance (only 20 miles including a stretch of motorway).
Ran perfect all the way there. However coming home was somewhat different. I noticed that it began surging on part throttle, noticeable jerking the car almost like fuel starvation when you run the tank low?? However it had 3/4 of a tank and a newly changed inline fuel filter.
Does anyone have a suggestion or similar experience? It was quite un nerving driving back down the motorway. Full throttle it wasn't noticeable but any but and it clearly was.
Carbs are completely unknown to me in the car world. I've only had experience of them in 2stroke bikes where I swapped a couple jets out and job done!
It's always ran perfectly pottering around town and short trips down the dual carriageway at NSL etc
Thanks in advance.

Thanks I will check it out, ran sweet as a nut again this weekend, until it was stopped warm then started back up after popping into the shop for a lottery ticket! Was continually trying to stall and surging away down the road, I keep thinking fuel starvation?? I had to pull the choke out to keep her running and limp home.
