Hi,
I need the arches on my E30 Flared. Its going for a respray so want them done before. Im based in Worcester west midlands, cars not really mobile at the moment.
Does anyone know anyone in the area who does arches?
p.s. also looking for some coilovers if anyone has any for grabs.
thanks guys

If it's going for a respray afterwards, I guess you don't need to worry too much about the paint cracking. In that case I'd just buy a roller from Ebay - about £100 - and sell it once I'm done. Would struggle to find someone who will roll the arches for less than the difference.

Or couldn't you just ask the bodyshop to do it for you?

The guy doing the respray doesnt do arches for some weird reason. In fact most the body shops localy said they dont. However found a friend whose actualy got the roller tool. Hopefully will get him to do it.
Still looking for coilovers, on a budget.
Ideally second hand, or the only new ones iv seen are JOM, which dont know much about, apparantley they only go 10mm down on the rear, which isnt enough for a good stance with 17" Alpinas.
Thanks

If you're going stance with 17 Alpinas (which must be reps, since you're on a budget) then just replace the struts with wood, which you can saw to the appropriate ride height. It won't harm your handling any more than BK reps and JOM coilovers will.

Thanks for the very helpfull remark bud.
Btw, the wheels came with the car, they are brand new with new tyres, so are not on the priority list,
In the long run, will be going for the bbs deeps.
Im new to projects and restorations, so any advice is much appreciated

What he said. Replacing BMW's quality components with such aftermarket junk will only bring disappointment.

And I definitely want to avoid ruining it.
I'm not planning on going track days, so its just weekend road use.
Coilovers that will "do the job" without breaking the bank.
Appreciate the help guys.

If you're not doing track days at all, then why go the coilover route? Their purpose is to set up the car's suspension to the needs of a track, after all.

If you want a drop that looks good , get the tried and tested Eibach springs with Bilstein B4 shocks. It won't compromise the handling (in fact, it'll ride a lot better than more expensive coilovers), it'll look smart, and you'll have money left over to get rid of the awful wheels you currently have.

I'm not slating your taste in rims, by the way. But the BK 17" Alpina rep is well-known as one of the worst wheels you can fit; heavy, cumbersome and so soft they'll go eggshaped at the slightest whiff of a pothole.

Grr has a point, the 17" bk rep is know to be heavy and effect the cars handling badly, they seem to be the cause of the hate for E30s on 17" wheels.
Good quality 17s will drive fine.

Can also second the fact you can get an e30 sump scraping with just springs. I am only down 30mm on 17" and had to roll the rears still due to the z3 hubs and wheel offset.

You will probably find with -60 springs you will be more than low enough, any more than that and e30s drive like shit. Not worth the downsides for the "looks".

Thanks Guys, Appreciate the advice. As I said, the reps came with the car, I am hoping to replace them with BBS wheels as soon as I can.

Bk reps are junk.... Sorry but seen so many. Poorly made etc

Stick them on Facebook and it will be on its way to Birmingham fast... They love em!
