I have had my E30 M52B28 conversion connected to a mates Snap On Diagnostics with the 20 pin adapter and it all worked ok but I need to get my own OBD2 diagnostics now.

I have 2 different round 20 pin to 16 pin adapter cables. I have tried connecting both to my Torque OBD app on my phone by bluetooth but both cables will not connect with the ECU?

Torque app & bluetooth adapter works fine on a 2007 Ford Focus & VW golf VR6.

Does anyone know the best or cheapest way to connect OBD2 diagnostics to the E30 with M52 lump?

:D

Search for 'OBD/ADS interface'.

I brought the same lead but came with an adapter,it works upto a point ie resetting warning lights etc but not in depth of the programs.
As Brian says you will need an ADS type interface.I also need one I found two on eBay one without any casing over the board and one with both from the same place.in America

My interface looks identical to the one in these pics: http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/sho ... duct_id=17 and cost me around £16, IIRC.

Bimanut, does the cables and software you bought from ebay read the error codes or just reset service light etc?

Have you got a link to the ebay american ADS type interfaces?
