Hey guys,

I need some advice.

Havent driven the sport for a bit but drove it to work today (30 miles).

Went out for lunch, floored it a bit and a strong smell of fuel went through the cabin, now happens when accelerating.

Very concerned to drive it home now, smells like its coming from the front and not the rear. The car has had a new tank and lines etc so i dont think any issues back there.

Can anyone give their 2 pence worth please? Cheers fellas.

If its had new fuel hose there is a possibility the wrong hose has been fitted and its falling apart, there are two recent threads about this.

Id advise you to start looking for the fuel leak before driving it much further

was the window open?
its a known symptom of a rust hole if you get a smell of fuel only when the windows are down
M40 rightness if you can get to 6000rpm noone can hear your tappets

age: hmm, the window was down. Rust hole where?

Perhaps a quick visit to halfords to buy a fire ext.

Danthe : Barry has done all the work to my car so doubt its the wrong hose.

I did not fit your fuel tank! If I had I would have painted it black and used the correct hose from BMW.
