Hello;
I've fitted the 2001 clio brake servo in combination with the original e30 master cylinder.
The problem is , my brake pedal doesn't come back far enough like it used to be..
I've tried using a 20mm bullit in my master cylinder, also a 35 or 40mm bullit, without the bullit, ... the pedal just stays the same..
Does someone know what the problem is?
Also the rod in the servo doesn't come as far out , as seen in the M50 swap section on the E30 Wiki page. I've been twisting the rod, but it doesnt come out..
Here are some pictures, help is appreciated.

Clio brake servo problems.

I've done this when I changed from auto to manual, I had to prop the pedal up at top of travel then twiddle the nuts on the push rod behind glove box to make sure it was right length, so maybe making it longer will keep pedal in right position? Just a stab in the dark, hope this helps.
I think your servo might be faulty. The servo forks should be very hard to push if you try by hand. I don't know about you, but I don't have any adjustment rod on the glovebox side of my clio servo!
I've got another problem with mine. The brake bite point is right at the top of the pedal ”“ I'm guessing this means I need to shorten my 'bullet' by a few mil

It's a pull rod, not a push rod. The rod, which goes across the car behind the heater box, screws into a clevis at each end, has a normal thread at one end, and a reverse thread at the other, so turning it adjusts its length.mopsdrops wrote:No? how does this work??
There are locking nuts that have to be slackened first, and flats on the rod, near the clutch pedal, that enable the bar to be turned with a 7mm (?) open ended spanner.

It's purpose is to set the pedal height, and will always need adjusting after changing a servo, although I'm not claiming that this is necessarily the sole problem for the OP.
Most E30s that HAVEN'T had a servo change are also in need of this adjustment in my experience. There should only be a small amount of free play to lift the brake pedal upwards from its rest position.
