Hi, for the past two days ive been hearing a knocking from the rear of my 86 325i, after some research ive concluded it should be the rear shock mounts. my question is its a bank holiday weekend and i wont be able to change them till tuesday. ive got a 10 mile round trip to work, should i take the bus or could i carry on driving for the next 3 days??

A certain Scotsman stuffed a pair of socks in place in eastern Europe and drove home!

ASAP replace with e46 cab rear top mounts as are stronger so the wiki says.

IF it's the top mount that has failed, there's nothing serious going to happen with the car in the short term if you continue to drive it. (Unlike the coolant tank on my E39 which decided to split this morning!!!!)
