Scanning through ebay one afternoon just generally looking at cars as i like to, i came across a nice looking e30 325 mtec 2. Badly photographed and badly described, but a short taxi ride from Luton airport, and a roadtrip in the two new cars back up to Aberdeen sounded like fun.
I sent the seller an email to try get some slightly better photos of the car, barely thinking anything would actually come of it.
I basically forgot about the car until i got an email a few days later, with nothing but a couple photos.

After seeing these, my mind started wandering. I looked at how realistic it was to fly to Luton, find somewhere to stay the night and then drive to Norwich in the morning, then carry on North upto Aberdeen. After a little research, id managed to find flights and accommodation for a quarter of the price that going straight to Norwich would've cost! After a few brief texts to the seller, we settled on a price and I got the flights booked.
A week or so after this, we (me, my friend Alasdair buying the ek9, and another friend, Becka) Set off to fly down to Luton. Got down there and got the taxi to the car (got the cost of this taken off the sale price aswell, winner!) Got to the sellers house to find the e30 tucked away in a corner under a cover, and i took this as a good sign, especially on a car i had flown the length of the country to buy sight unseen! (I did have Milton Keynes to Norwich train details, just incase)
Took the car out on a test drive, and fell completely in love. The car felt good, had been recently resprayed, and had a full history from '94 on. Cash exchanged hands-my funny scottish notes got a good laugh! And we then spent the night in an extremely questionable (but extremely cheap) hostel-type hotel.
In the morning after a terrible flea-ridden sleep, we packed up our stuff and headed off on the couple hour drive to Norwich to buy Alasdairs ek9.
Arrived at that sellers house and test drove etc, bought the ek9 and headed off to start the long drive home at about half 11.

After a few hours of non-stop fuel stops and cheesy roadtrip tunes, we realised that due to Beckas amazing co-piloting, we were now only 20miles away from Milton Keynes, where we had just left that morning! Nevermind, after a quick look at a map myself and kicking her out into Alasdairs car, we set off, in the right direction this time!
More to come!
