Self tappers. Did buy some security Allen screws then I saw how easy it is to buy the key for them.
The only one that wasn't nicked before that had been held in place with mastic and was too hard for them to remove.
Cheers

Was that around the center hole or the waffle design area?
To be fair, nothing stops the theft only slows them down for either a conscience to kick in or someone to catch 'em..... I'd love to catch a car thief/ car parts thief .....

Around the waffle part for the screws. The mastic was around the centre lock ring.

You could always glue cut down plastic E34 caps in place with silicon rubber. At least they won't be stealing anything of value then.
You can twist them off with the standard tool when you need to remove them.

An alternative, for a car on your drive overnight, is to connect one end of a single wire to the 'live' pin in a 13A plugtop, and to fit a crocodile clip on the other end, and attach nit to your exhaust pipe end.

I like that idea more.......
After the first theft I whipped them all off
Then I secured them, the method did look ok,
Now it's under lock and key but when it is my daily I shall bear this tip in mind .....

One assumes that one attaches the crocodile clip first....Brianmoooore wrote:An alternative, for a car on your drive overnight, is to connect one end of a single wire to the 'live' pin in a 13A plugtop, and to fit a crocodile clip on the other end, and attach nit to your exhaust pipe end.

Wouldn't work on the cat! They take a leap with all four feet off of the ground to get where they want to get, so wouldn't feel anything, just like a bird sitting on 11kV power lines.
I did effectively deter a neighbour's dog that paid nightly visits, a few years ago, by using the 21,000 volt EHT supply produced by an old valve colour TV.

Don't know if it would work for the rears, trailing arms have no, non-insulated path to the car, bushings between the arms and beam/beam and body, spring pads, rubber brake hoses, diff bush if you go via the drive shafts....
