Hi all,

Further to my high idle, the engine has developed a running issue. Basically it kangaroos when driving, it feels like serious clutch slip, but it's fine when moving it on the clutch, and when revving it in neutral, the engine hesitates and is reluctant to rev.

I've tried running the car without the TPS, no difference.

Fresh fuel, no difference.

Let the ECU forget its settings, no difference.

However I did notice the wire for the CPS appears to be damaged (see below) is this likely to cause such an issue? I've done some research and it does seem the CPS can cause running issues?

It starts no problems.

The engine is in a 1977 BMW E21, not an E30, so the wiring has been spliced into the E21 loom, but I've had the engine running perfectly before so I know the wiring is okay. It has developed this issue very recently.

Thanks

I should note that the engine is a Motronic with the CPS at the front of the block.
