Sweep: hooked me up with a gearbox late on a Friday night. Had a good chat... After that night we offered the gearbox up only to discover the splines were different and needed to replace the spigot bearing. Having asked sweeps advice I knew that he would hold the key to the resolve. He did. And also offered more support with a back up supply of most bits I required.
P_viddy: basically came to my house, got under said turd and juggled a gearbox on his chest for a couple of hours. Fitted the whole thing up and got the motor back on the road...
Me, I just took a load of stuff off my car and made the coffees... Took a small road trip to South Yorkshire and chatted to folk.
So a gearbox gave up on me. Put it in reverse and it never came back out. Quite a rare fault I believe? All the credit belongs to the other two..
