Hi, I'm having a problem polishing out some blemishes on my cabby. The pale spots seem to be below the 'brilliant red' paint surface. I've tried T-Cut & Meguires scratch/blemish remover but they don't touch it. Any thoughts?[/img]

Sounds to me like u need to get a repaint. But u need to sand the car back beyond your problem. Is the cloth turning red as you polish it? If not then them spots will never go as the problem is in the red base coat and your car has a lacquer on top. If it's possible take photos...
I'll check with the manager

Don't want to scare you but it could have been caused by water in the primer too...
Then the sun heats up the metal and the water tries to escape.
Retro paint jobs were wet flatted and dependant on what kind of shop painted the car. It could have been parked out in the rain in primer. Being porous, the primer absorbs all the water...then if the panel isn't infra-red lamped first before any paint application the moisture remains in the primer.
Therefore, you must take it back to at least that stage... Lamp the panel to let it all escape.... Then primer over the primer if that makes sense before you paint it.
But if the rag turns red when you polish it, you need to use a proper cutting compound as opposed to t-cut (the satan) as it's honestly a god awful product and a waste of money. It was only good on cellulose paints

Thanks guys.....you're just trying to cheer me up! Seriously though thanks for your replies. The cloth does pick up the colour when polished. It's not a large area, just annoying! Any recommendations on a decent cutting compound? Cheers.

Farecla G3 will not fix it and farecla G3 is old and crap compared to Menzerna and the other modern compounds
