I am doing a m20b28 build in the near future and about 2 months Ago sourced an m52 block with internals, it was free with some suspension i bought. My question is other then measuring the length of stroke is there any way of telling if the crankshaft is a 2.5 or a 2.8 crank ? As i cant recall the specs of the block as was just a 'yeah go on then il have it' type deal.
thanks in advance !

Dan knows his, for what it's worth, to my understanding, in m52's, 2.5 cranks are cast, 2.8's are forged, so if the crank is out and you stand it up and tap it with a hammer, the cast will give you a dull thunk and the forged will ring. cheers.
