Please someone help me.
I'm sure there's others out there who have spent hours trying to sort out their central locking on their e30 - right now I'm feeling the pain.

Basically,I'be replaced the door looms on my 2 door beaut, and I've purchased a right door microswitch for the drivers door....but there's a problem - the connections from the loom to the microswitch do not match! So my questions are:
1) did the looms on pre-facelift and facelift differ?
2) should the drivers door have a microswitch?
3) why don't the microswitch and loom connect?

My car is an H reg 2 door 316i LUX.

Any help greatly appreciated.vwhat doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Thanks.

There's a microswitch on a plate held in place by the driver's door lock barrel that is solely to set the dead locks.
There's a microswitch on a similar plate on the passenger side which sets the locks only.
Locking and unlocking on the driver's side is initiated by mechanically moving the lock motor itself, and similarly, on the passenger side, moving the lock motor initiates unlocking.
A couple of colours of wires were different on pre facelift cars, but as long as it had the dead locking facility, it was otherwise the same.
What, exactly, was the problem with the locking before this work started? I'm fairly sure it was nothing to do with either microswitch.

Hey - thanks for the response.
The issue before all this was that the previous owner decided to take out the actuators from both doors (actuators are still in place for fuel flap and boot) and the microswitch was missing on the drivers door.
So in summary I've just purchased the correct actuators for both doors and connected them up.then last week I purchased the right door microswitch. On fitting the switch it became apparent that there's 2 spare circular connectors on the door loom, a single single pin connector and a 2-pin connector. But the switch connector matches the 2 pin connector in the door loom i.e. they're both male so I can't connect them.
Are the microswitches identical on both the drivers side and passenger side? As my connectors are different - the issues is regarding the microswitch fitting on the drivers door.
