Pretty much as described. Pulled gear lever out of reverse and the car is still in reverse... Gear lever looks like it's in neutral but it's not selecting any gears or going back into reverse
I'll check with the manager

Two possibilities. Either the external linkage has become disrupted/disconnected somehow (get underneath and have a look), or the gearbox has suffered an unusual internal failure.
