Hi,

While i'm waiting for my drivers quarter panel to come in i can get on with refurbishment / rebuild of my 325i SPORT LSD and Gearbox - can anyone recommend someone they have used and have had a good experience with ?

Thankyou

Gareth or demlotcrew on here both do diff rebuilds.

How bad is your gearbox as they are normally ok?

Getrag rattle? They all do it to some degree. Believe Kos had some success with a redline gear oil

If you're located North West, Mark at Neinmeister in Warrington could likely do both 'box and diff.

Unfortunally I forgot to take pictures in a walk through sort of stage wish I had though basically all the bearings I sourced from a local bearing factor the pinion bearings were around £20 each the seals and new pinion crush ring I got from the main dealer and wearnt dear I also striped the lsd unit and replaced the clutch plates those I got from drive traction and were £80 the only pictures I got were as follows

Crikey that's worn! Did you set the backlash etc yourself?

This is how I found it good job I decided to strip the lsd or I wouldent of known and yes set the backlash myself and the pinion bearing preload too not that hard if your a confident mechanic but dose need a viriaty of shims and an engineers clock gauge if your lucky then just changing the bearings and rebuilding might not need reshimming as the shims are usually matched to the casing
