What Gear oil?

Trying to find a straight answer but can't find one different car shops say different things.

I have 75w90 fully synthetic which is usual oil colour but when I went to drain the gear oil it came out red...

Basically what gear oil should I use? Using standard gearbox from e34 525 m50b25 engine.

ATF Dexron 3

There will be a sticker on the side of the box which will say 'ATF only' or similar
