Touring rear quarter body colour trim help/advice...

So I'm thinking about getting on with some exterior tidying, (probably, one day!)...

These curved pieces of trim around the back edge of the rear most side glass... my drivers side one is coming away at the top, presumably because there's been no gutter trim in place for some time.

Should these pieces just pull off and press back on???
It appears to have some crap wedged behind it, so I'm hoping it's not a rusty can of worms behind there!!!
Are there any delicate clips, etc that will break when I remove it and stop me being able to clip it back on?

Also, do I need some clips/fixings for the gutter trim at all???
I have one, (from a zoner a while back), so does it just press/clip in place???

Gutter trim should just press on, but it has some "joiner" parts, a bit like the metal sleeve in the middle of the windscreen rubbers.

The strips themselves have studs on the back which press into plastic oval grommets, plus a thin foam gasket. If you're going to remove them be VERY careful - each grommet and each foam gasket are 2 quid each, so at three a side it comes to 24 quid

I didn't use these when I refitted the trim, and I'm now paying the price with water in each boot pocket. Or at least, I hope that's the cause...

Ah, right.

So i'll prise it off carefully when I get a chance and see what happens!!!

Hopefully I'll only need a foam gasket and the joiner part!!!

Annoyingly, the gutter trim on the other side seems to spring up at the end near the door mirror and won't just push back down - hence why I thought I might be missing some crucial clips or something!!!

Oh bollocks, mine are off and the foam bits are all over the garage.

Yeah, I didn't pay attention to mine either, and the car lived in a garage for two years so I never noticed.

But I parked it outside for a week in wet weather and suddenly both pockets were wet. And I saw a drip fall off the inside of the boot shelf (the plastic trims that the pocket doors latch on to). So it has to be coming from the D-pillars, and those mounting holes are the only ingress points.

If the clips even look knackered, I might just buy a whole new set - rather spend £24 than have a boot full of water!!!

The seals and grommets for the 'shark fins' need replacing every time they are removed!
This is one of the most common places for water to get into E30s - far more common than the oft maligned rear light seals.

So judging from the realoem pic below, I need a few 8's (51131870459 - Insert) & 9's (51131858962 - gasket)

Also, no. 3 moulding joint (51131953067 left & 51131953068 right) - any idea if real oem's left or right is uk drivers side???

Also, is no. 10 (51131863499 - Clamp) for holding the front end of the gutter trim in place???
If so, I'll be needing that for both sides and would explain why that end of the passenger side trim won't stay in place!!!

LH and RH on any car are always taken as they would be sitting in the driver's seat, facing forwards, so the ETKs 'right' applies to UK driver's side.
Also, where BMW handed parts are concerned, all parts for the LH side have odd part numbers, and all RH side parts have even part numbers.

So...... Just priced some bits up with Cotswolds on here and apparently part 51131858962 - the little gaskets, are NLA!!!

So what should I use in they're place???

Any suggestions, or alternative part numbers???

Look at RealOEM again. It clearly says 51131858962 has ENDED, and been replaced with 51131904479
