Tank fits straight in, with no clearance problems.
Return fuel pipe needs to be moved from its existing position on the fuel pump to a stub pipe on the front of the 63 litre tank, and the now vacant stub on the fuel pump needs to be blocked off with a short piece of fuel hose and a bung.
The 63 litre tank has a second fuel level sensor on the top of the LH side, which needs to be connected in series with the existing one that is combined with the fuel pump, and the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster needs to be changed.

i already recently swapped the fuel gauge so thats one job done!

i removed the pumps from both tanks before and i see there is a single stub on the 55ltr pump and 2 on the 63ltr is the other stub then a return or used to take fuel from the passenger side of the fuel tank?

is it the extra stub on the 63ltr tank that i need to blank off? and regarding wiring is it a case of just plug and play or is there wiring needed for the second fuel sender? thanks brian!

I think you have your pumps mixed up. The 55 litre pump has two pipes and the 63 litre version just the one. If you have both available, then just use the single pipe pump, rather than blanking off the second pipe on your existing pump
The second pipe on the 55 litre pump is the fuel return from the pressure regulator, and the hose that connects to it must be rerouted to the stub pipe on the front when fitting the bigger tank.
The reason for this is that the bigger tank is more sophisticated than the smaller one, and uses an internal syphon to transfer fuel from the LH saddle to the right, rather than a pipe at the bottom linking the two, which allows fuel to go the wrong way under cornering. The returning fuel is used to prime the syphon and keep it working.
A side effect of this is that the fuel levels in the two halves of the tank can be very different from each other, so a second level gauge is needed to get an accurate level reading by giving the average of the two levels.
Cut the brown/green wire a couple of inches from your existing level sensor, which will leave you with two cut ends. Join these ends to a piece of two core wire, route this over to the other sender, and connect the wires to it. Doesn't matter which way around.

great stuff so its straight forward enough then! yeah i think i might of got the pumps mixed up alright as i swapped them between tanks a few years ago trouble shooting the lack of power to the pump when i realised the problem was the ecu wasent connected properly i switched them back!

so ill go ahead and use everything from the parts car then! thanks
