Well Oz's now crispy A tech built M20B27'd 2dr 325i SE is going to be reshelled into the ridiculously clean 56k mile 2 owner 2dr 318i auto.

Cheaper than welding up and painting a 260k mile crusty shell which well never be as good as a shell that's never been crusty.

Simon, Powely, Oz and myself are due to hit it in 5 weeks time. :)

Wow, great project and it sure is a super shell that car. Makes much more sense than a welding mission and full paint job.

Just a shame you are left with a set of seats and a 318i engine now.... :(

What do you think...4 days start to end?

2 days to do the bulk of it. A ramp makes a big difference.

Seats and other parts will be sold.

Nice.. Look forward to seeing this. So will this car be considered a 325i or still a 318i?

Like any conversion it will be its base car (a 318i in this case) with an M20B27 and complete 325i running gear and 62 ltr fuel tank.

Blimey.

D130ALO lives on - engine no. 1865531 now in it's fourth shell!

Was a good engine that - it had done 140'000 miles by 1992. 'Well run in"! 8O
