I'm looking at a set of 15x6 wheels originally off a VW Golf mk1 with 4x100 hole pattern, genuine BBS but only supplied OEM for VAG, the Model is BBS 'RZ':

My question is - will these fit straight on an E30 and look sensible offset wise? I'm currently running stock 14" bottle tops.

Fairly sure you will need spacers to get them looking sensible.

Have a look at this thread (I think page 2 shows the spacers)...

Some one on here did run a set and had some issues.

For the money they are going for you could just get some 15" BBS on here that will bolt straight on.

The standard BMW 14x6J bottletops have an offset of ET35.
This is exactly the same offset as the 15x6J BBS RA rims in your link.
They will therefore be an identical fit.
Why do you say they are model RZ? Which is a different style.

Yes but the 15" that bmw fitted as standard where a different offset and many say 15" v 14 " the 15" drives better. Think 15"bmw BBS are et25 off set off the top of my head....

I really can't remember the guys name who did run the vw alloys in the link he does a build thread and lived in Latham buzzard ?

Rembered it!
Guys called green, did find this posts but the pics are missing.
Could be worth a PM to him if you still want vw rims to hear his take on what it drove like.

The question asked is will the rims in the link fit straight on an E30 & what will they look like offset wise. The bottletops have ET35, the rims in link have ET35.....they will therefore fit identically.

The 15" BBS RZ optional rims which are often fit are ET24, but these are not those & that's not the question.

The wiki says that 14" BBS have ET30. Strange that it is different from the bottletops at ET35.

Odd that the bottletops give a slightly wider track.

my apologies for any ambiguity - although I wrote 'RZ' I did mean 'RA' (as per the link). As such, same offset as the 14" bottle tops I currently have. The reason I like these VAG wheels is they are all alloy with no plastic centres which I rather like. The 15" BMW cross-spokes are nice, but it feels like a good set with decent centre caps runs at £350. Anything less seems to require a £200 refurb at a minimum with proper tyres extra. particular thanks to 'minesapint' for clarifying.

Possibly to do with the design of the inner face of the wheel and clearance to the caliper??

As for how the wheels will look. As below, but the rears in the pic are running a 25mm spacer...

Out of interest, if you were to purchase a set of BBS RZ 15x7J ET24 which were/are the BMW E30 optional rims, then the effect compared to your 14x6J ET35 bottletops would be.......
The outside of the rim would move out of the wheel arch by, 25.4/2 (half the difference between 6J & 7J) + 11 (the difference between the offsets), 12.7+11= 24mm.
The inside of the rim would move into the wheel arch by, 25.4/2 - 11= 2mm. This is as near as damn-it where the inside of your current 14" bottletops are now.
Cheers
