iv found pics of some done just thought its worth looking into as iv got a engine box loom ect and the e30 has a big engine bay and gearbox tunnel so shouldn't be much cutting about to get it in....

M52's are the best swap going for an e30 and not many people would slag one off unless its done badly

Or someone put it an M3.
There has been a many YB conversions. I'm remember there being a guy who did a great bulld thread on here when he built his, but that was many moons ago.
Kos, you rememeber 'chip-3door' I think his username was? He was a ford guy.

From what I remember Kos layed into him a time or two, that's when the zone was much more chilled out, and there was no swear ban

I'd like to think I'm doing a very good job. However I have a 325 2 door chromie that is apparently too rare to molest pfftKos wrote:really ?P_VIDDY wrote:I got a little "abuse" for fitting a m52 engine so good luck with getting that approved by the purist gimps lol

I don't think most people care about m52'ing e30's tbh.
As said, YB has been done many times. Iirc fuzzy's had a chopped up sump to clear the crossmember and custom engine arms and box mount

If you type 'Cosworth' into our Search function, it will bring up 28 pages of threads.
I'm sure that hidden in those 28 pages is plenty of practical info.

The most helpful advice I can give is to sell the ford scrap to somebody with tattoos and fit a BMW engineharleuFXRS wrote:so no actual helpful info then lads eh???.....lol....

I can imagine the sump and crossmember interface being an arseache and given the YBs sensitivity to oil feed and breathing I'd be a touch nervous about getting that bit right. I'm kinda with Dan on this one - Cosworth engines are very good if they are done well - I have seen many many Cosworth engines done very very badly...
