Hi Guys,
My car is a 318i M40. Currently I am experiencing an issue when revving the engine to the max. It cuts out way before it should, then nearly stalls, sometime to the point that the dash light red and there's no power until I switch the car off then back on.
Here's the video of the car being revved when in neutral gear:

To resolve it I have got:
- new spark plugs
- new coil
- new distributor cap
- new rotor arm
- new TPS (throttle position sensor)
- new battery
- new camshaft
- new valves, tappets, rocker arms, etc
- new air intake hose
- second hand Air Flow Meter. I tried with two second hand ones.
- new air filter
- new temperature sensors. Brown and blue plugs.
- cleaned and refurbed fuel injectors (around a year ago, and the car has done 2 track days since)
- new batch of fuel
- new timing belt (M40 engine)
Things I have not yet checked and are current main suspects are:
- fuel pump (it's operational as you can imagine)
- fuel pressure regulator
- leaking injector?
Could it be mechanical? If you watch the rev needle, it seems like it is "slipping" but how? In neutral?
