Dont think you get any points, but wouldnt fancy the fines youll get!
Probably cheaper to just get it legal.

Maybe more importantly, it invalidates your insurance.
You are only legal to drive to a garage where you have a pre-booked MoT.
Not advisable.
p.s. Most people have probably done it at some point, whether by accident or on purpose.

problems with bmw is if they looking a bit long in the tooth chances are you'll get pulled by the filth. all it takes is a blown bulb then you'll get producers bla bla bla, if you cant produce the mot's it gets out of hand. having said that i knew a mate who drove a mark 3 golf for 2 years without tax mot or insurance. all he did was wash it and keep t in good nick. and not driving like a muppet obviously.

the police can seize your vehicle and crush it!
my touring was clamped for no tax, Ԛ£200 RELEASE FEE
rover was towed away for no insurance, will be crushed by now!

if youve got no tax or mot your insurance is invalid also .i got 10 points when i was a lot younger for no insurance, thats the main one with a fine of several hundred pounds as well. the no mot is a relatively minor offence likely to lead to a fine of another couple of hundred pounds. but if your involved in any accidents you will get well shafted, not worth the risk these days

...just out of interest then, can you leave a taxed, mot'd but uninsured car parked on the public road?

dont think so, although the chances of getting caught would be very slim, as long as theres a valid tax disc in view, nobody would pay it any attention

they can indeed, all your details are stored on the police computer nowadays, but its unlikely a parked car would draw their attention.

They are thinking about bringing a rule in which means you can't have a taxed car unless it is insured.
You can't buy tax without insurance so it makes sense. But what a nightmare.
Fu*ks me and my Civic up. Get a days insurance on that for track days, but keep it taxed all year. Surely the government are winning from me! So why this stupid rule. (I know really, but it annoys me for my circumstance)

thanks for all the advise, i no what you are saying, but its so tempting, to top if off its bloody freezin getin to work in the mornin. I do need the headliner, but skint as just got smoked rear lights and insurance. Roll on pay day, new rims, service tax, exhaust, headliner.
