Does anyone know if swapping to E30 M3 suspension will alter the track width (wheel mounting face to wheel mounting face)? I will be using m3 suspension and am looking at wheel options. I want to run the 16x7.5 et27 BBS wheel that came on some m3, and if I have calculated it right, there is only a slight difference compared to the 15x7 et24 BBS wheels that are on 4 lug e30. The outer lip will be ~4mm closer the the arch and the inner ~9mm closer to the strut tube. This all changes if the wheel mounting faces are further apart on m3 suspension though. Any one have any idea?

I think track width is the same. It's marginally wider because of the slightly bigger offset of the m3 wheels. 24mm to 27mm so 3mm a side wider track when the wheels are fitted.

You can run the 16x7.5 with E30 M3 5 stud on a standard bodied E30.

Can even run up to a 225/45/16 tyre on the front and back.

Brilliant! Thanks for that. Same wheel/tyre size I am considering.

I have the hub track width (hub face to hub face) somewhere, give me a bit to find it.

Edit - Right:

Rear end
E30 1440mm hub to hub measured on a beam on the floor which ties up with the 1399mm stated track (et21 wheels)

Front End.
By same math posted track is 1346mm, add 42mm for offset and you are at roughly 1388mm hub to hub.
Or depending on which measurements/literature you use: 1432mm at hub (1390mm track) as there is more than one front track width floating about and I'm not sure which is correct.

E30 M3 hub tracks are very hard to find:
Going from the bmw stated 86 track and the ET27 wheels:
Front = 1466mm (1412mm track)
Rear = 1478mm (1424mm track)
