The gearshift on my 1985 323i with 100k miles (and most probably another 100k) 'clocked' between owners (!) is a bit vague and I have real difficulty getting her into first from a standstill.
It's been suggested that various gearshift bushings are most likely shot and that replacing them all might suffice.
Does anyone know whether anyone in Europe offers a kit with all the various clips, washers, cups and bushings together?
I've seen that Pelican and Bav auto offer them in the US but once the dirty thieves from HMRC intercept the inbound package I'll be royally fleeced for VAT, admin, bla bla bla. I learnt my lesson here long ago....
