I may be going mad, and this is probably very simple, but:

E36 m52 engine into my 1989 325i.

I have the 4 pin temp sensor connector that drives the dme.

Iv added an e30 single pin coolant temp sensor beside it.

Which wire do I connect to the e30 sensor? Do I simply take the violet wire from the 4pin e36 sensor and connect to the new e30 sensor?

Thanks
Matt

As simple as that. Cut the purple/brown away from the M52 plug, and connect it to an E30 sensor plug.
