So I went to look at the car for the first time in a little while.

Annoyingly it had a puncture.

Even more annoyingly the wheel nuts have been put on with an air gun last time.

Even more annoyingly I chipped the alloy when the extension bar slipped off the tyre lever from my poxy merc.

I blame the Merc completely and it's good riddance to it in 2 weeks time when it gets replaced with something nicer but in the meantime I've got a quandry.

Car got an advisory on one tyre last time that it was low. Fronts are Pirellis and are near to the indicator, rears are some nasty budget make that were on it when I got it.

I can try and get the puncture repaired but now I've probably got to get some new rubber. I've read around and it's either Toyos or Uniroyals that seem to be the preference so I'm tempted to bite the bullet and get a full set.

So do I do that or...

Buy a set of 16" Azev A with new rubber already on them. I've always fancied these - saw some on a 3 series in Germany in the early 90s and thought they looked great. Admittedly the new rubber looks very budget.

Are these anyone's on here?

Or I could be completely stupid and get them powdercoated nogaro silver in the centre and buy proper rubber. Someone with an Alfasud had a similar idea.

I'm definitely buying a proper extending wheel wrench tomorrow.

There wont be alot of takers on the Azev A's on this site I'm afraid as most people see them as "council" lol

What do YOU think would look good on YOUR car mate?

That's what it all comes down to at the end of the day!

Azev As' don't get much love around here, but I think they look great on the E30.

16s would be perfect & you can always revert back to the original BBS when you get bored.

You can never have enough wheel & tyre combos...

The $1m question that will establish Jim's councilness is his opinion on statics and whether he has owned or lived in one.

Over to you Jim. :D

Mr A - Your car looks OEM right now apart from your (rather nice) iS splitter. So I would say stick with your BBS 15s and get some new rubber. Also think your cab will ride better on 15s than 16s, especially as it's lowered. Lowered + 16s is also a bit dodgy ... next you'll be tinting and fitting a sub ...

I'm quite happy with my Nexen tyres, Kumho are also quite popular, or if you really want to spend a bit more then of course the Uniroyals or Toyos. Tyres are pretty cheap really ...
