Car in question is a 1991 325i convertible

I've done the red and black wire mod to get the central locking to work(thanks Brian) but my car also came with heated locks, mirrors and washers will any of these still work or have I effectively removed power to any one of these?

Lock heater is now without power, but won't affect anything else.

Reverse the red/black bodge and clean the A pillar connecter.

That's how BMW made them.

You don't need to reverse the red/black wire mod. Just connect a wire from your joint to one of the two pins on the A pillar socket and power will be restored.
BMW only connected it like they did to make it easy to add the central locking option to the base car.
Are you sure the heated lock was in working order? I've found that a working one is quite rare.
