Want to know what the best way to get my E30 sounding good is.

I have heard scorpion back boxes sound great.

I do not want a boomy loud sound, i want a refined sound with some some roar when 'putting my foot down'

Not looking to spend a whole load of cash on custom systems etc, was thinking of a universal ebay backbox - heard they are decent sounding, although a little on the loud side.

Any suggestions?

Drill some holes in your back box - makes it sound like a racecar (and faster than one).
