Can anyone tell me if i was to put in a new uprated camshaft (like a catcam 273) in to my head, how does the ECU know that the valves are open longer.
Does it just figure it out and run ok, or do you have to get it re-mapped??

Cheers

you kinda answereed your own post, the ECU will be none the wiser as to the revised cam specs.

A chip/remap to suit will be required to get the best from the cam swop

you can get a cam kit through the zone shop BTW

can anyone tell me what a 272 or 274 cam is like to live with in day to day driving? Is it a nightmare or tolerable.
As i can't decide whether to stick a standard one in or an uprated one.
Would appreciate you're comments.

Cheers
