The Rocker Cover Is Only A Few Bolts I Believe, Just The Inlet Im Un-Sure About!
The inlet manifold is not too hard to do mate, my advice would be :
-Get fresh manifold gaskets as im pretty certain they will tear and need replacing anyway
-Get tags and tag up things/wiring you remove so you can put it back in the right place
-Take pictures before you strip anything so you can always refer back to if you get confused.

message me if you get stuck id be glad to help :thumb:
Thanks man! will attempt it when i have some time!

There's always something that needs doing but that's what makes them unique.

That's my opinion anyway

well im just doing usual maintenance work as the car has been parked up, so getting the usual service done, discs all around, pads all around, brake fluid change, coolant change, drop links all around, handbrake shoes or might get it adjusted, all 4 shocks are getting replaced with bilsteins, lowering springs getting fitted, new ht leads, rotor arm & dizzy cap & finally timing belt, tensioner & water pump :D if anything else comes up on the way that will get done too...

Just for my own knowledge that i know it's been done! Last servic according to the history was done end of 2012! So no harm in doing so, regarding drop links just doing that for the long term as not that hard to do

True and best option if you're keeping the car long term.

Will provide trouble free motoring for a while once its all been done.

Talking about them bad boys

They prob arent blowing due to the part that actually goes inbetween the exhaust manifold and cylidner head still being ok.

But the design of the gaskets is to shield the HT leads from the exhaust Heat which it isn't doing now

In the end it will knacker out the HT leads quicker :thumb:

Hi all,

Ive booked the car in for a full re-spray, wanted some opinions if i should keep the car OEM or slightly modify it.

OEM Look

1 - freshly refurb the standard alloys with grey insert
2 - keep all shadlow line & grills chrome

Modified Look

1 - Staggered BBS style alloys
2 - Black shadow line
3 - Black kidney grill
4 - Pressed number plates & Bmw Surrounds
5 - Red rear lights
6 - Smoked Tints
7 - Smoked Headlights

Let me know what you think guys!

Judging by the in-depth description of "the modified look" its clear which one you really want 8)

what do YOU think your car will look better with?

Your car your choice!

It's all down to personal taste, I love the OEM look, especially with a nice tech 1 kitted car, it is all to easy to go for a deep dish style wheel, but then to pull them off you need to slam it, all starts from there, smoked lights, yadda, yadda.

But as mentioned your car, your choice. I would keep it standard though as they are getting rarer by the day.

I like the OEM look too, but i cant help myself once it comes to adding additional touches, it's definitely going in for a full respray, as the car has been lowered already 40mm already the alloys will be getting changed. After that i am in two minds whether to keep it OEM or not, time will tell & also money lol! But there aren't many factory tech 1 convertibles about

UPDATE 11/03/2015

Overdue update on this thread, but spared some time to fit the replacement wings & spray the insides the colour of car, getting there but slow. Needed some advice on the sealant near the wing joins, shall i do it fresh as its cracked now due to removing the wings?

Thanks
