Hey guys just wondering if anyone would happen to know the specs of the cams fitted to the e36 b2.5?
I've got a spare set of cams and was thinking of getting them reground to thoughs specs.
Second question, has anyone had this done? I.e. Cams reground and what where there thoughts? Pro's/con's?
Or should I just get some cat cams? They will be going in a b30 build later this year
Cheers ant

Any performance cams will usually have more lift and duration, you cant put material onto cams by grinding them. Why dont you just use the vanos head/cams?

Dan, what is the score with using an m52 head on an m50 block?
Or even an s50 head?

M50 and M52 heads can both be bolted to either ally or iron blocks
The S50 is totally different

Sorry to hijack the thread but assume I would need a different loom for an m52 head?
Only reason I ask, my head needs some welding/filling from where the piston let go and damaged number 5 and I have had several m52 heads offered to me. VEMS is able to control VANOS easily now so been considering it as an option

No, you can fit all the non vanos stuff to a vanos head apart from the front chain cover, for this you can just pull the gears out of the vanos unit and use that instead

ultra rare m50nv alpina cam on left .

with the cams fitted it felt like a bit of a power valve up at about 5k revs ...a bit like vanos

Ah I see that's what I'm after ideally, but might have to get some catcams instead as I can't seem to find any on here or anywhere else
