Noticed on my e30 325i that both engine mounts are broke and the ebgine has shifted 1 inch to the offf-side. I have bought replacment rubber mounts and will attempt this at the weekend, using a block of wood and jack.

Has anyone done this, is there anything I should be aware of or any useful tips?

Thanks in advance

Best advice is to drench the threaded studs on the old mounts with wd40 or the like for a couple of days before you do the job. The nuts can be hard to turn even when the mounts are intact but when they've seperated can be a real pain.

It's also best to undo the top nuts completely with the full weight of the engine still sat on them to prevent the stud from turning with the nut. Then replace one side at a time.

Once you've got the nuts off it's an easy job.
