I like these cars but its the expense of keeping one on the road that's puts me right off!

Good read 8)

Love these and I think they are still cheap for the limited numbers built. 10 t0 15k for average car which will need work, and a mint example with 34k on the clock sold at a dealer for around 25k recently but was up forsale for a year. Downside parts are hard to find and rust. Look great in a dream garage next to a nice Rs cosworth.

i cant find the thread now but there was someone on pistonheads who had re-shelled his rusty one into a UK omega LS base model. Proper sleeper

To be honest i think its actually true
Hehe...

But i am sure that the Carlton will be more valuable when times go on

i remember in 1991/1992 when most of the car magazines were full of articles about these EURO 4door super sedans,, and the battle between them,,, fantastic education imo

i was totally sold ,,,,,,,,, and swore to have one of those great cars ,, SOME day.....

one day.. 17 years later i had a B10 BT... 500E,, E34 M5 3.6.
all at the same time ((also E30 cabrio S38B38)) and only missed the mighty Carlton,,,,,,,,,,, but i dont care .. anymore

but i would love to have one.. the Lotus Carlton is an epic car
