For the last few days, when I have started the Sport from cold, it has been running on less than six cylinders.

Is it very lumpy. After about 1-2 minutes, it disappears.

Is this the start of a potentially larger problem?

What are the remedies - clean the injectors?

Start by measuring the resistance of the blue temperature sensor, engine stone cold, then at full running temperature AT THE ECU PLUG. Details in the wiki.

I attached a diagnostic tool on the weekend and this is what the car told me:

I still can't figure out how to embed an image into the post! :x

The link you posted is invalid.

The link needs to end with .jpg or .png, and you need to put at the end.

Also, what diagnostic tool? It's very very unlikely that you'll get any meaningful info from one.

From scouring the internet, all the fault seems to mean is that you have no 02 (lambda) sensor, which isn't surprising if this is a 1989 car.

When was the car last serviced? What oil is it running? What was the temperature in the morning (sub zero?). What's the reading of the blue temp sensor at the ECU? All these provide far more info on diagnosing your car than an OBD1 reader ever will.
