Do normal screens have bonding too? Mine has a black rubbery type silicone stuff in the groove of the seal. Is this standard? What is it and do I need to reuse it?

I think its just water resistant type stuff, if anything id put some waxoil around the aperture and let it dry before fitting the seal. There is usually some plastic siliconed into the corners too

That's the stuff I'm on about Dan in the corners , there's nothing on the back just the front. Is it worth putting silicone back in the corner.
