Hi guys,

Looking at getting some Dare RS 16x9 on my 325i and was wondering if getting 16x9 all round would cause some steering issues such as rubbing and less lock? Just wanted to know if anyone if running 16x9's all round and what you've done to prevent problems.

Cheers.

Thinking 16x9 all round because I think this looks great..

from what I recall 9j may give you issues, if you don't want to compromise handling etc I would go for 8j.

Another thing with the cheaper replica bbs wheels is that they don't last well. this is something ive learnt.

save for some bbs rs wheels

Just what I didn't want to hear! But! maybe your right..

The only thing is.. where can I get BBS wheels from? Surely if I'm going to be spending 1 - 2k on a set I should just get brand new ones. Do they not make RS's anymore? But yes.. I wonder if they guy in the link i put had any issues as he's running 9j all round with 25mm spacers.. Hmm.

Cheers

You're joking right, You can pick up a decent 16" set of RS's and usually redrilled for about £1.5k.

1 - 2k is 1.5k lol.

I've seen them on eBay and what not. No re-drilled ones. But my real question is can I, today.. buy a brand new set of BBS RS?

If you are running 5/120 running gear I've got a set of 8 & 9s (I think, will have to check) need building up, but wouldn't be asking more then £1000 for them

Ask yourself this, no matter how well you look after them will your Dare (or whatever other BBS reps are out there) be worth what you paid for them after a few years use??? The real deal will be, if not more!

I've first hand experience of Lenso BBS reps on an E30 I bought, no matter what I did they soon corroded under the lacquer!

Cheers mates.

Brian and Paul, What offset and spacers are we talking here? I'm thinking 16x9 all round with ET20 (if that makes sense) and 15mm spacers. What'd ya think?

Kedge,

Your right.. The real deal will be.. If i don't curb one of them once and if the whole car doesn't get stolen. If your just talking about the paint. I'm cool with the corroding and stuff. For about £100 a wheel, I'll happily repaint them in a year or two. I'm wondering if they are considerably weaker than decent brands. Any experiencing with the Lenzo's bending or breaking easily?

Thanks again

Interesting read this, I thought 8" would catch on the front coz I had. 7.5 x 17 that rubbed on my last e30
Makes this "one day item" a possibility.....

No scrub on front, et15, no spacers, lowered 60mm, 195/45
Minor on rear, but stiffening should sort, et18, lowered 40mm, 195/45
Bilstein b4 shocks, cheap springs

Those wheels are sweet aswell

Was that 16" or 17"?

First saw those 3dsm rims on a a3 and thought "that would good on a e30"

Prob about 18 month away from them anyway ....

9's you may have issues with inner clearance. If you space them out you than may have issues with them rubbing on the outer arch if your car is lowered.

I have had this argument plenty of times, what alot of people dont realise is that these wheels are made in the same place as alot of other 'acceptable' wheels.

And dont forget alot of wheels are made in china and alot companys will just ensure that replica is put infront of the product name, its not hard to find

http://pujie.en.alibaba.com/search/prod ... ext=klutch -

The dares are a good wheel, for the money they are a fucking brilliant wheel. Yes they will never be on par with a set of bbs and will never hold value as a BBS does. However if you dont have the capital to buy a genuine set of BBS wheels than the dares are fine.

Honest I have had two sets and they are brilliant, simply dont let them fester in dirt (you wouldnt anyway with a bbs) and they do last.

I used mine like this regularly and never had an issue with the finish or bending

Thanks Phill..

The car is 30mm lowered all round on Apex lowering springs.

I want to have 16x9 ET20 all round with say.. 15mm spacers. Would this work?

Baring in mind I'm up for buying an arch roller and slightly rolling the arches.. and also getting bigger or smaller spacers depending on advice. I have literally no idea what to buy.

Willing to get 16x8 ET15 if its a lot less hassle.

Thanks

I got 4x9J / 16" ET10 with 215/40/16 tyres

On back i can easly put another 0.5cm spacer to make ET5 or even ET0.On the front i have camber plates wit camber pushed to the max.

But my car is lowered ~80/60mm and if you go lower wheel is going more inside the wheel arch. On stock suspension wheels would come out form the arch.

In my opinion 16x9 wit -30mm lowering looks like crap

Cheers Grzesiek.

You got any pics of your car? I can't go to low because of the area I live. When I got the car, she had 15" BBS's and 60mm drop springs all round. It bottomed out multiple times. 40mm be enough?

At the moment i don't have pics.

It's up to you. I prefer width rims with god lowering. You can also try with 8J on the front

If you got 51mm struts 9J ET10-12 gona fit. But rim with ET20 or bigger gonna touch the strut
