I just got a reply from an ebay seller in Germany regarding an eibach prokit and he tells me that eibach didn't do a spring set for 6 cylinder tourings and would I take H&R instead. This doesn't sound very likely, is it true? :?

I have eibach 60mm drop rears on mine. So yes they do do them. But as Brian says above if you can't locate them get the cab one's.

they don't make them, never have so use the cabs ones which they've always done. I'd use H&R myself though

Really? I thought Eibach were the king of springs, or is it just personal preference?

Do H&R give a "firm" ride? I'm looking for something that offers comfort as well as handling, in that order.

Yes, very well suited to a road car and even their 60/40 set are great on the road. Ive always prefered H&R and I run them on my e46 and e24

I've tried both the eibachs and H&R's on e30's and always preferred the H&R's

Simon13 is a huge fan of them and has run them on pretty much all his e30's

Fitted cab eibachs to my 320 just before going on holiday.

Also papped some new oem spec shocks on- it rides well and is mostpleasing to drive. I was glad i did it prior to drivine to Prague, rather than after..

I've got eibachs on my touring with B4's. Ride and handling are spot on for normal road use.

The H&R's ride well on 35mm. The only difference you can notice between them is when pushing on and how the cars handle a touch different.

If youre not that fussed there then go with the cheapest, they're both quality stuff

Where do Koni stand in the spring stakes? These are what I have now, about 7 years old and -30 (or maybe 35, can't remember) all around. There's nothing wrong with them, I just can't think of what else to spend my hard earned on at the moment :)

I find the Eibachs are a bit better for comfort, H&R definitely stiffer

Still can't decide which to get! One thing that is swaying me slightly is the Eibach 30-40mm drop at the front. Which is it, why can't they say for sure?! What have people's experiences been, 30 or closer to 40mm? And would the fact that the rear springs were specific to the convertible make a touring sit a bit higher or lower?
