Hi guys

I have got a problem with the rear carpet behind the front seats being wet. I can't seem to find where its coming from. It's a 1990 cabby and currently has a hardtop fitted to it.

Any ideas ???!

You have to take the carpet out to dry it unfortunately, you may see the source of the infiltration afterward by hanging out in the car under the rain by hosing it down good. You can put baby powder all over (carpet out) and it will be obvious where the water comes from. I used that trick twice :D

Good luck

Prime suspect for wet in that area is the round metal plate, about 3" in diameter, that's fitted into the floor pan right under each front seat. They are held in by three lugs, which tend to rust off.

With a cabriolet it can also be the roof compartment drains.

Check under the rear seat. If it is wet there it will be those drains.
