Plenty of trader types and Ebay fiends on here. What was your best fragger? I mean in a sense of profit X ease of parts turnover. So Im not really interested if you managed to sell all of the glove box plastics/wheel bolts/coolant hoses over a 9 year period from a certain car.
Ive had a nice tickle on a few but one that springs to mind was an E plate 4 door 320i in doom blue! This was back in 2007 and I needed transport to get me to Mansfield for a pissup with Andyboy later on that evening. Checking the local rag found "blue, 320i, tax mot, leather £500" of which I went to view just to get a vehicle and not view of a profit(its a 320i moredoor). The thing got me to Everetts and back(he may remember this car).
Once home It was treated to a bottletop and comfort trim conversion. The upshot of this thing was the mint 2 door leather and mint BBS 15"s which were sold for £450 and £420!(ebay auction on the bbs) respectively. The car itself I sold on for £480 iirc so that about a grand give or take within a fortnight with no skinned knuckles or harsh language insight. While it wasn't a fragger per se, I did remove parts for a profit.
There are others including a lachs silver sport with leather for £250 just over 10 years ago. I remember old pete telling me about an e30 m3 he bought from a scrapper for about £3.50 once.

Probably a 1988E 325i Touring I bought for £175. Black leather Sports seats, 15 inch BBS, LSD, HWW, OBC, Bilsteins, mint tailgate and running gear - it had a full BMW S/H and only needed a wing and bonnet repair, but it was Cat B'd.
I broke it with ease to £1500.

Not a BMW, a fully loaded, aircon, grey leather, electric windows, electric mirrors, headlamp washers etc, 1988 8v mk2 golf GTI obtained from a mechanic who rents a unit on a farm just down the road in 2004. He bought it from a salvage auction just for a nice set of wheels that were on it and let me have an old set of mk1 golf Pirelli wheels complete with centres he was going to scrap to roll it around on, all for the princely sum of £150. I think the profit was well into 4 figures on that one within two to three weeks.

Something i've never done, broken a car with a view to parting it out. I did once swap a two seater sofa for a B reg Vulva 340DL which I subsequently MOT'd and sold for £450
The sofa was probably worth £4.50.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

My best breaker was a 325i touring think I paid £225 for it. Turned out to be 2.7, had lots of goodies. Was stripped and weighed in within a few days for about £1000 profit.
I did also buy a bit of a pig 325i of a mate for £500, as he was desperate for cash. Took it back to my garage, someone I knew turned up for something or another. He had £1000 in his pocket, and off it went. £500 profit in the space of an hour was one of my better days.

The year after even better as the turd I'll be working on to serve is a major earner.

I know your situation. You have all but told us your bank balance on a few occasions, how much gold you have etc. This thread is about fragging, nothing to do with property but you just couldn't contain yourself and just had to talk about how fantastically successful you are.
It's all rather pathetic and tasteless but whatever makes you feel interesting - adequate

Best was a D reg 320 more door in gloss black won for £180 from the bay - sports leather interior and some nice morsels allowed it to break for just over 1K in 2 weeks
Easiest was a silver G reg poverty spec 318i touring, nothing special, fairly comprehensively failed its MOT - paid £100 for it, stored it for 6 months and did nothing to it , flogged it on for £350 as an add on sell to a fella that bought another touring off of me.

I bought a 2 door 320se for about £800 and have made nearly that back in parts like the OBC, interior etc. The rest has been turned into a race car
Wish I'd done my research here tho first... MTEC1 wheel went for about a fiver

While I posted the thread In the e30 chat, the subject was open to any other car marque. At the same time the thread clearly wasn't started for someone giving at the big one about a house purchase.diable wrote:Edited as should be about E30'sstew72 wrote:I think the clue is in the first paragraph of the first post....87mtech27 wrote: But this thread is in E30 BMW Chat not pub talk so surely only relates to E30s??
