Hello, can anyone help! i have a light flickering on my E30 dash and have no idea what it is. Only does it now and then and in no pattern. Its not the hand brake light, not the brake warning light but its a round circle with a dotted line around it! anyone help me with what this is?

thanks john

brake pad wear mate
are your pads due a change?
if not check the sensors

they are located at rear right and front left
and plug into the pads

also I am gonna move this into the tech section for you

Check the sensors, they probably haven't been fitted properly, and have caught and broken.

If the wire from the pad sensor is not clipped in place properly it can rub through on the inside of the wheel rim.
If all is well with the pad sensor(s), then there is a common, easily cured fault in the instrument cluster, that causes these symtoms.
Do a forum search for "220 ohm resistor" and my username.

The light won't go out, just buy a new one, and fit it properly, they're only a couple of quid!

I'm sure Brian will tell you how it's the first thing he looks at when buying an E30, isn't it Brian!?
