Just wanted to do a quick head count which engine oil you use

?
As there seem to be quite a few brands to choose and diff websites recommend diff engine oils
Please state
Model
Year
Engine Oil
I will go first
E30 325i Sport / 1987 / Castrol Magnatec 10W-40
PS
Although recently have topped up with 2 litres of Castrol Edge 0W-30 Fully Synthetic which I found in my garage.

Why is your engine losing oil? Is it clapped out through all the drifting or is it a leak?

I think bss325i said during MOT has minor oil leak but "nothing to worry about"
I think thinner engine oil 0W-XX is better for cold starting but may leak possibly I haven't noticed any leaks

That needs sorting if you're constantly topping it.

The car practically changes it's own oil, time saving ftw!

Sounds like its burning nearly as much as an E46 turd
Usually use 5w30 but have recently been using Mobil 1 0w40 as I got a job lot for a good price and its supposed to be very good at high temps, this is in the chromie Alpina 3.2 (M52) and track car M52 3.0 build
Tripple X? Does it smell minty fresh?

I checked the other day and I didn't see any. I'll check next time.
Also had fuel leak when I collected from you in May 2014. Interior sometimes smells of Shell Unleaded Petrol. I don't really notice it but my mate who is driving instructor noticed it smelt funny (presuming is petrol)

Yes, that was the perished fuel breather pipe that leaking when you brimmed the tank was it not?
How many miles have you done to use 6 litres of oil in 6 months?
If it's not leaking then it must be burning it.

Carlube 15w40 semi synthetic.
I buy cheap stuff as it only does a few hundred miles a year and it doesn't get driven hard
e30topless said : Proper BMW's have 4 headlights, last of the run was the E30 and E34/E32 anything after that is just complete shite
