I'm sorting out my wheels and I have a couple of old spare tyres that are original oem uniroyals, 205/55 15's. One dates from 1997, the other 1994.
Is there a market for these for those who must have an original spare wheel, or should they go straight to the tip?

1994 could just possibly be original on an E30, but 1997?

That's because the spare wheel tyre were replaced after a certain age by the dealer.BenHar wrote:1994 could just possibly be original on an E30, but 1997?

Having run a number of new BMW in the 80's and 90's I never came across that policy when the car was serviced, although they did check the spare for legal tread and inflation and put a sticker on it stating that it was checked and date inserted.Blitz wrote:That's because the spare wheel tyre were replaced after a certain age by the dealer.BenHar wrote:1994 could just possibly be original on an E30, but 1997?

I do like original spares with the original tyre still on unused its true, but I'm not sure about part worn tyres being desirable, if that's what they are.

Both have been used although plenty of tread remains.
I certainly wouldn't use either on the road but they may appeal to someone. I won't be asking a lot for either.
