Hi Everyone, very gratefull if anyone could help. I have 2 questions

Question 1. With the headlights on, is the Heater fan speed switch and the pictures of the human on the heater slide controls suppose to illuminate. I'm wondering if i need to replace a small bulb or something. On my car the temperature control switch and the left of the slider controls illuminate but the right hand side is dark

Question2. What spec battarys do I need to order for the SI board. Mine are shot as the temp guage is playing up and a can't reset the service lights properly.

Many thanks for any help

With the headlights on you should have both sides of the fasia lit up.

There are two bulbs, one each side, and you need to undo the panel to replace them. It is also a possibility that they have simply fallen out of the holders.

Hopefully someone else will answer the SI battery question, as I don't know!

1: when checking / replacing the bulbs, it's probably easiest to remove the head unit and mounting cage. the bulbs are then accessable through that hole in the dash. prepare to remove your knuckles though!

Right hand heater panel bulb is bottom right of the fan switch, and is pushed in at an angle from the right. Can be reached (just) by removing the panel above the drivers knees.
Left hand bulb is right beneath the clock, and can be changed yt prising off the clock surround, and unclipping the clock.
SI batteries: www.cpc.co.uk, use NiMH batteries in place of NiCad.
I use slightly shorter batteries than the original AA sized, as they are easier to fit and less likely to short against adjacent components. Part number is BT00170, Ԛ£1-38 each. Free delivery over Ԛ£30-00.

Farnell bought cpc a while ago, but they are run as seperate companies in the same line of business. When I'm on their homepage http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/op/shoppingbasket.jsp; is exactly what appears at the top of my screen. The 0s in the part number are numbers, not letters.
