The tech 1 kit was available on convertibles Jim, and fairly common. He's not mentioned Sport or 325.

Simons Bro in Law has a white convertible with a tech 1 kit on it. Here's a pic of it next to mine (without the kit) a few years back.

Ar, well there you go, everyday is a school day as they say

I always thought the "tech 1" notation was short for the sports

Cool,

nice cars by the way...

You're right Jim! It is really.

A "tech 1/2" is short for M technic 1/2 325i sport.

When people say "i've got a tech 1/2 cab" its wrong.

NO, you have a 325i cab with a tech 1/2 kit!!!!!

Now, now, Barry, calm down.

Just because you're not allowed to call your plastic clad saloon a Motorsport, there's no need to talk bollocks.

Lol!

They are indeed a stunning pair. Rob (si's bro in law) bought that from my mate Adam (the guy who painted my Sport and Simon's C2 resto) after i advertised it on here with no interest about 4 years ago.

60 odd thousand miles, decent spec with factory ordered M tech suspension, LSD, M technic 1 kit, switchable auto, indigo leather, 15 BBS etc.

Totally rot free and perfect paint.

I wont tell you what he paid for it but lets just say you would struggle to get a f ucked Sport now for what it cost!

And Trev's car rules!

How am i talking bollocks?!

1, i would never call my "plastic clad saloon" a motorsport as that's a convertible model.

2, what i've said regards tech 1/2 cab's is right.

B7 your Converyible looks great
I actually prefer it WITHOUT the m-technic aerodynamic bodykit and looks classier / more subtle / understated with out the bling

Jimbo that Avatar you need it !!!!

I tend to say tech1 sport / tech2 sport to avoid confusion
Tech 1 / tech 2 kits were available for 325i including convertibles as an option I think

M technic body kits were available as a factory or dealer fit option on any E30 except M3.

When I bought the car 11 years ago, I was toying of the idea of fitting the full tech 1 kit. But I'm glad I didn't to be honest as I too prefer the cleaner original lines. Although Robs car is a peach. A very original peach.

I'd prefer to see rear headrests in the other car - I think they make it look much nice than not having them, but the boot spoiler would have to go. Both are excellent looking cars!
