As soon as the wages come in I'll be emailing about the braided hose.
Didn't realise gsf did the pagid pads. After the thread on Technical Help I'm gonna go for them over the Green Stuffs I was gonna get. I really need to do something about the soggyness of my brake pedal.

Dont want to bombar this thread but we also do ATE power discs and Mintex C-Tech Racing Pads.
Anyone who has tried this combination will vouch for their quality.
Let us know your requirements
Maybe we could do a group buy on the braided hoses, fitting these alone makes a wonderful difference to pedal feel on the E30

I'd be interested in braided hoses, depending on price.
Will be needing uprated front discs and pads too in the not too distant future.
Thanks!

I spend 5 hours yesterday sorting out a virus on Becky's computer.
No excuse I know, but that's what happened.
Sorry for the lack of emails.

Don't think that putting 2 hoses on and leaving the other 4 as rubber will make any difference, need to replace them all to get the benefit. that, I won't be going for SS Lines personally. Seems like SS brakelines are a bad idea unless you are going to change them fairly regularly, like every 18 months.hoshy wrote:If it makes a difference then I'll just be wanting 2 hoses for my front calipers. Hate it when I can't find the site I was reading on this... from what I can remember it has to do with dirt getting in between the braid and the Teflon inner, over time this grinds away at the Teflon and eventually you get a leak, because of the braid it is impossible to see this happening so they lines can look ok from the outside but can be knackered internally.
The other thing I think was mentioned was because there is less expansion in the hose itself it puts additional stress on the crimped ends of the hoses and these can fail over time.
If I find the site I will link it, it is ofc only 1 persons information, but I like to take all things onboard before deciding. I think if I were going for SS Lines I would ensure they are clear plastic covered over the braid, and get the highest working pressure ones I could find.

I just figured the only ones to change were the two rubber sections connecting each caliper.Jos wrote:Don't think that putting 2 hoses on and leaving the other 4 as rubber will make any difference, need to replace them all to get the benefit. that, I won't be going for SS Lines personally. There are 2 rubber link lines connecting the fixed lines from the car body to the lines on the rear trailing arms as-well, serious buggers to get at.
Heres a picture of mine with the diff removed, and yes they are cut
