Just did my renewal with Peter Best for my sport - all mods declared (fully stripped track car), it wasn't so much the premium that stood out however that I was able to get an agreed value of £10,000 :D

£280 a year, limited to 1500 miles, 250 excess and it's kept out in the sticks, so probably helps, but I do have 3 points.

They didn't question the valuation at all, I just needed to supply 6 photos.

The value is only actually agreed once you've sent the photos and they agree and send back a certificate stating so

Tom wouldn't be that naive

No surprise its through KGM, thats who my e24 is with (Lancaster were the brokers in my case)

RE valuations etc. even once you send back their request for photos and fill out their forms and after their appraiser has signed it of they can still challenge the valuation in the even of the claim should it come to light that its just a shiny turd thats handing underneath.

The best thing to do is pay for a proper valuation where they inspect the car. I've had my e24 done again recently and its been signed of at 15k which is a touch above market value. what pushed the value up was the epic engine bay and attention to detail such as new trims and rubbers

Cheers Kos - will look into it - I've never had to deal with an insurance claim, thanks again for the heads up.

No worries mate

BMW CC do them as do Munich Legends (Both will do valuations based on photos and visual valuations)

Id go with the CC and get int0 contact with neil McDonald who looks after the e30 register and organises the track days with Nick Wright. As your car is an e30 track car then they'd be ideal for in independent valuation.

Close Brothers finance too (have the same with my cars), is it me or do you think their slice of the pie is a bit greedy?
