What actually is the big problem with doing/stopping it being a direct fit I've got an e36 complete ready to do the m52 conversion onto the e30, but wanted to use as much as possible from the 36 as it has bigger better brakes Coilovers and better steering If I have read it right.
I've got no problem with making custom parts as I'm a welder fabricator and have made a few custom subframes and cradles for old ford's and I'm willing to make bespoke subframes if I have to.
Cheers in advance
e36 to e30 stud conversion

Taken from the Wiki:
"I originally used standard E36 spindles and brakes, but caster just does not work out. Wheel sits too far back and very often rubs."

From looking at the solutions, even the best improvisation only gives you JUST enough clearance to prevent rubbing, and certainly isn't good enough if you test the limits of the suspension.

I was reading that the other day and trying to understand what throws it off so much. Correct me if wrong but can you use the 36 front subframe on the 30 if so it's the bottom arms and suspension location in the turret causing the issues then?

Shape of the bottom arm and also location of the spindle wrt the strut.
No idea about E36 subframe on E30. But distance from the main ball joint (where bottom arms bolt to the subframe) to the rear bush housings for the bottom arms would also be a consideration.

Think I'll have to offer up see what it looks like or how badly it fits I think I'll be using the 36 rear diff so custom rear subframe is looking likely tho I have a full running gear off a 320i convertible.
As the e30 I have is only a 318i

The other problem is the geometry of the steering arms as the e36 is longer in the wheel base.
